American Girl Anniversary

There was some talk a while back (maybe even before the holidays) about 2006 being the 10th anniversary of American Girl. Did anyone ever determine that to be true.

I wish they would come out with some special commemorative items. Specifically, I like tins. I'd like a tin in AG colors (maybe two tins, one historical and one AGOT). A tin about 8 x 10 x 5.

I'd also like some anniverary items like a special outfit or two.

2006 is the 20th (!!!) Anniversary.

I, also, hope they do a bunch of things that are far more intersting than the T-shirt from 1996.

Here were some of the other ideas I remember from the times we've talked about this before:

-80's outfit, to commemorate when the dolls first launched (perhaps even as a halloween outfit, [img]wink.gif[/img] )
-AG coffe-table book, about the history of the dolls
-new outfits for ALL the historical girls
-new adult-oriented club
-re-introduction of some of the "better" retired AGT outfits

There were a bunch of other ideas. I just rememebered the ones I liked better [img]redface.gif[/img] .

If they don't do anything, that's really a huge loss.

Bring back all the items originally introduced in the 1980's...

I would also love something special for the 20th birthday. I hope its something really neat like a special outfit for each of the historicals.

OOOOOH! I like all of the ideas. Certainly the coffee-table book about AG, an adult collectors club, re-release of certain items. I also like the idea of a collectors tin and special outfit for dolls...also some collectors pins. Oh, there is so much they could do.

My question is whether they will go all out for 20th or wait another five years and really do a bang-up 25th celebration collection???

Indeed, inquiring minds want to know. And, I can't wait for time to tell what they might release later this year.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think they ought to strike while the iron's hot, and then if there's still a major AG force in five years (which of course there will be), do it up even bigger at that time.
